Moses was born on December 17, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her passion for music began at an early age as a gospel-singing mother raised her.
Her professional music career officially kicked off in 2004 with the release of her debut album Complex Simplicity, a fourteen track album that included “Be Your Girl.” In addition to her singing career, Moses also worked as a songwriter. She had a hand in penning tracks for artists including Nivea, Mary J. Blige, Raphael Saadiq, and Christina Milian. Some of her writing credits include “Dip it Low” by Christina Milian and “Here We Go” by Trina. Between 2004 to 2015, Moses also released six mixtapes.
Her recent career moves include signing to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group in 2011, making her the first woman to sign to the label. In 2014, she went on to release her single “All I Ever Wanted,” which sampled group Dynasty’s song “Adventures in the Land of Music.” By 2014, Moses left Maybach Music Group and signed to Shanachie Records. Under her new label, the entertainer released her sophomore album Cognac and Conversation.
