At 28 years old, Jessie Reyez will share an Atlanta stage with the likes of George Clinton & Parliament, Brandy, Common, Cardi B and more. But who saw this coming on June 12, 1990? That is the day the singer/songwriter was born in Toronto, Canada.
Born to Colombian parents, Reyez is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Toronto (and she didn’t have to go through Drake). Many people first heard Reyez on “Living in the Sky” with King Louie in 2014. While others caught on to the singer in 2016 when she released “Figures” and “Shutter Island.”
In April of 2017, Kiddo, Reyez’s debut EP was released and was later nominated for a Polaris Music Prize. The project made it as high as 83 on the Canadian Albums Chart, cracking the top 100. Since that time, we’ve heard Reyez collaborate with Calvin Harris, Romeo Santos, Lewis Capaldi and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
Her music can be accessed on YouTube, Apple Music/iTunes, Soundcloud, and Spotify. Get familiar now before too late; you don’t want to be the only who doesn’t know the words.
