DJ Solomon was introduced to the art of DJing through the mixtapes of Farley Jackmaster Funk, DJ Terrence Parker, DJ Godfather and DJ Assault. Though he’s been a hip-hop fanatic from the beginning, he was also heavily influenced by the Detroit House and Ghetto-tech club scene of the mid 90’s. Armed with a fake ID, Solomon ventured into the Pontiac and Detroit clubs not to drink or party, but to follow his favorite DJs – just to listen to their music and watch them control the crowd like magicians. This fascination with DJing quickly turned into a passion. By his second year of college in 1999, he finally owned his very first turntables and mixer.
In 2006 Solomon made his Atlanta debut at Breaklanta VI, one of America’s largest break-dance competitions. His first residency came in 2007 under the tutelage of DJ Rasta Root and his monthly event Face Off Fridays at MJQ. Since then DJ Solomon has become a mainstay in the Atlanta club scene. He has held residencies at some of Atlanta’s hottest venues: Soho Lounge, MJQ, Graveyard Tavern, MJQ, Whiskey Park and Halo,
With great musical knowledge and 14 years of experience in the club scene, DJ Solomon has developed a unique style that allows him to create a vibe or a “feel” while rocking the crowd. He is truly a music lover’s DJ. He is always willing to learn from other DJs and is constantly incorporating new styles, techniques and musical genres into his own repertoire. This has helped to add longevity and creativity to his DJ skillset.
